The problem

The funding process repeatedly asks companies to reconstruct the same story.

Every new application can trigger another rush to locate technical evidence, explain the company, update milestones, rebuild the commercialization story, and bring a new writer up to speed. Important information remains scattered across decks, reports, applications, emails, and individual team members.

Specific Aims Intelligence creates continuity across the funding lifecycle. We organize what the company knows, identify what is missing, and convert that record into the next appropriate funding or capital product.

Where the answers usually live

  • Pitch decks
  • Technical reports
  • Previous applications
  • Email threads
  • Individual team members

Each of these holds part of the answer. None of them is a record the next application can be built from.

Phase I Build

Move from technical promise to a defensible Phase I application.

Phase II Autopilot

Phase II preparation should begin when Phase I begins.

Specific Aims Intelligence helps awardees capture milestones, evidence, partnerships, commercial progress, and unresolved gaps throughout Phase I so the Phase II application does not begin as a deadline-driven reconstruction exercise.

“Autopilot” describes a managed continuity process run by people. It does not autonomously write or submit an application.

Captured continuously through Phase I

  • Phase I milestone tracking
  • Evidence capture
  • Technical-progress organization
  • Commercial-progress capture
  • Team and partnership updates
  • Readiness-gap identification
  • Phase II strategy
  • Specific Aims development
  • Research-plan preparation
  • Commercialization-plan preparation
  • Supporting-document coordination
  • Phase II application assembly

After Phase II

Two routes forward, chosen on the evidence.

Phase II results determine which follow-on path is realistic. Some companies extend the non-dilutive track; others are ready to translate progress into commercial capital conversations. Often both run in parallel.
04

Continue the non-dilutive funding path.

We evaluate whether the company’s Phase II results support an appropriate follow-on federal mechanism and convert that progress into the required strategy and application materials.

Possible routes

  • Phase IIB
  • Commercialization Readiness Pilot programs
  • Sequential awards
  • Translational research programs
  • Agency-specific continuation mechanisms
  • Appropriate federal contracting opportunities

Not every mechanism is available to every company. Eligibility depends on the agency, the original award, and the evidence.

05

Translate evidence into a commercial capital story.

We help organize technical and commercial progress into materials for investor diligence, licensing conversations, and strategic partnerships.

Materials produced

  • Investor narrative
  • Evidence summaries
  • Data-room organization
  • Partner brief
  • Licensing narrative
  • Strategic-partnership materials
  • Technical milestone story
  • Commercial-readiness assessment
  • Capital-use narrative
  • Diligence preparation

Specific Aims Intelligence prepares materials and organizes evidence. It is not an investment bank, securities broker, fundraising intermediary, or financial adviser.

  • Other defensible science and technology ventures

Differentiation

More than deadline-driven writing.

01

Continuity

The company's information and progress move from one funding stage to the next, so each application starts from a record rather than from memory.

02

Positioning

Applications begin with funding fit, reviewer logic, and a defensible strategic argument — not with a template and a deadline.

03

Evidence discipline

Scientific, technical, and commercial claims remain connected to supporting information, because that is what reviewers and diligence teams test.

04

Capital progression

The strategy considers what should happen after the immediate application, so a win positions the next stage instead of ending the plan.

About

Funding strategy built around the company — not only the solicitation.

Specific Aims Intelligence grew out of a pattern that kept repeating in client conversations. Companies would arrive ready to start writing, and the honest answer was often that they shouldn’t — not yet. The timing was wrong, a piece of evidence was missing, or a factor outside their control made that cycle a poor bet. Some had already paid someone to begin writing before finding this out. Others had the opposite problem: they were underselling what they’d built, positioning for a mechanism well below what their data could support.

Both failures start in the same place. Grant work is usually sold as writing, so it begins at the writing — while the decisions that determine whether an application is competitive happen well before a word is drafted.

This firm was founded by Snider Desir, PhD, whose background spans biomedical research, target validation in pharma, and commercial roles in life-science technology. That combination matters here: evaluating whether a scientific claim is actually supported by its evidence is the same discipline that determines whether a Specific Aims section holds up under review, and the commercialization narrative is an argument about market and adoption, not a section to fill.
